Candidates will register for an exam through this website. Review step-by-step instructions describing how to create a Pearson testing account, register for an exam, and schedule an exam appointment .

It is up to the program to determine the point at which candidates become eligible to register and are approved to take exams for certification. However, to remain in compliance with Texas Administrative Code §230.21(b), programs must give candidates who have completed all EPP requirements approval to take the appropriate exam(s) for certification.

No. It is not necessary for EPPs to wait until the candidate's last semester to give approval to test.

Contact Texas Educator Certification Examination Program customer service at Pearson. If candidates are having problems with their Educator Profiles on the TEA website, they should submit a TEA Help Desk ticket .

There are a number of reasons why candidates may not be able to register to retake an exam. For example, candidates may have reached the five-attempt limit or had their testing eligibility revoked by their EPP. Candidates are also prevented from registering to retake an exam if their results from their last attempt have not been posted in the system. Once exam results are posted, the earliest date candidates can retake an exam is 30 days from their last exam date.

Candidates must bring to the exam administration two pieces of original (no photocopies or digital ID) and valid (unexpired) identification, printed in English in the exact name in which they registered. Their identification must contain their name, a recent recognizable photograph, and their signature.

Please note: The first and last names on their ID must exactly match their name on their test registration. If their ID does not match their test registration, they will not be permitted to test, and they will not be eligible for a refund.

At the test center candidates will be required to provide a digital signature, have their photograph taken, and provide a palm vein scan.

Candidates are limited to five attempts to take a certification exam. For more information, review the Retake Policy page on this website.

Some exams require candidates to bring a graphing calculator. Candidates should review the applicable exam information page to learn whether an exam requires the use of a graphing calculator or on-screen scientific calculator.

Score report dates for all Texas Educator Certification examinations are available in the Scores section of this website.

Test scores are not sent to school districts. Instead, authorized district personnel may access a candidate's examination results in TEA's Educator Certification Online System (ECOS).

Authorized EPP users can access exam results through the edReports website, using ResultsAnalyzer®.

EPPs can access their summary statistics, pass rates, and the overall pass rates for all exams using the ResultsAnalyzer® tool, which is available through the edReports website.

There is no email notification sent to EPPs when scores are posted. Scores are reported within 7 days of testing for many exams, and within 28 days for exams that include constructed-response questions. The earliest date that candidates and EPPs could receive a score report is noted in the individual schedules for each examination, available in the Scores section of the program website. EPPs can access candidate data according to these schedules directly through ResultsAnalyzer® or ECOS.

EPPs can find up-to-date information on examination registration, administration, scoring, and reporting on the Texas Educator Certification Examination Program website. The EPP section of the website contains information that program faculty, administrators, and educators can use to help prepare candidates for exams and assess their program's curriculum in relation to Texas certification requirements.

A variety of free and fee-based preparation materials are offered for the exams. You can find preparation materials in the Prepare section of this website.

EPP administrators can order Representative Examinations by submitting a request for an order form to estestvoucher@pearson.com. EPPs must have prior authorization from the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
